Joan Longhin Howard

Vice President of Human Resources

Joan has served the ministry of CHI Living Communities for 14 years, and has 30 years of experience in Human Resources, Finance and Administration in the long-term care industry. 

She has been instrumental in integrating Human Resource initiatives into the strategic goals of the organization. Areas of responsibility include providing oversight to Human Resource policies, programs and services, including compensation, employee relations, health and welfare, development and learning, and compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws. 

Joan earned degrees in Human Resource Management and Business Administration from the University of Dayton and Edison Community College. In addition, she achieved the Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation from the Society for Human Resource Management, as well as the Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR) designation from the Human Resource Certification Institute. 

Further, Joan is an active member of the national and local chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management. She currently serves on the Human Resources committee of the Ohio Health Care Association, and annually has presented management training seminars for the Association.
