Job Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director of Dietary, the Dishwasher washes all dishes, pots, pans, and puts away throughout shift.  Delivers tray service orders. Maintains cleanliness of dish area.  Checks in food deliveries and puts stock away.  Clears tables and assists with light cooking, as needed. May also assist in special food functions for residents and other departments.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed with little or no direction; shows initiative in assisting others within the department.
  • Keeps all dishes and utensils clean while on duty.
  • Ensures correct levels of Dish Machine detergents and drying agents are maintained.
  • Responsible for nightly machine teardown, cleaning, and reassembly.
  • Puts all dishes and utensils away promptly so supplies are kept where needed.
  • Keeps dish area neat and orderly throughout shift.
  • Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation of work area.
  • Cleans and shines dish area at end of shift, including sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Empties trash container and relines can at the end of shift.
  • Completes yearly online education program by deadline.
  • Attends all mandatory in-service programs.
  • Attends employee meetings on a regular basis.

Job Requirements

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience
Past experience as Food Service or Health Care worker preferred.

Attendance
Regular attendance is an essential part of this job.
